creative teams & casts of Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push'

Women Ruled 2010 Grammys (VIDEO)

Our only LGBT presence in the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards
was Lady Gaga & Elton John’s show opener. However women
dominated the show with Taylor Swift & Beyonce taking home
a combined 10 awards, becoming this year’s big winners. The
media highlight was a tribute to Michael Jackson. Carrie
Underwood, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson & Celine Dion
performed “Earth Song” followed by a moving speech by Jackson’s
children accepting his award for him. However the real show stopper
was Pink performing a Cirque du Soleil type presentation of her song
"Glitter in the Air" from her Funhouse album. She made her way down
the aisle to center stage in a white robe which she dropped to the
floor in an outfit that was revealing to say the least…:)

Gay Marriage is a Conservative Issue

(AUDIO) There has been a recent surge of conservatives coming
out for gay marriage lately. First the NEWSWEEK cover story
“The Conservative Case for Gay Marriage”, by Theodore B. Olson
then Cindy and Meghan McCain posing for NOH8 campaign. We
asked Arline Isaacson, Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Gay & Lesbian
Political Caucus who is one of the architects of gay marriage in this
country what she thought about this. Isaacson states, “It’s a very
interesting phenomenon and I am thrilled they’re doing it and I’m
grateful for that and appreciative that they’re doing it. And another
part of me says “ ‘It’s about time’ because we have been arguing for
years as have conservative gays like Andrew Sullivan that marriage
is a very conservative fight for the gay community to be involved in.
I use that argument frequently when lobbying our state legislature
on the issue of marriage. I say to them, ‘My God do you realize what
a conservative thing the gay community is asking for? We are asking
you to allow us to participate in the most conservative institution
imaginable’ and the quintessential example of the things that people
who exult America believe in. And here it was we were asking to be
put into an institution where you love, honor, cherish and obey until
death do you part. What could be more conservative than that?”

Cindy McCain Comes OUT For Gay Marriage

2010 has started OUT to be “expect the unexpected” on both ends
of the spectrum. First Republican Scott Brown winning Ted Kennedy’s
senate seat and now we have Cindy McCain, the wife of 2008 GOP
presidential nominee John McCain and their daughter Meghan have
posed for photos endorsing gay marriage forces in the NOH8
campaign in California. Meghan McCain has been outspoken in her
support for gay rights even during her Dad’s bid for the White House.
"I couldn't be more proud of my mother for posing for the NOH8
campaign. I think more Republicans need to start taking a stand for
equality," Meghan McCain wrote on her Twitter page. Read More

The 12th Annual Lesbians & Friends Dance

The 12th Annual Lesbians & Friends Dance fundraising event for
Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) was a huge success.
The dance party included music by DJ Ann Rogers, complimentary
hors d’oeuvres & a cash bar. A silent auction raised lots of $$ with
many fabulous items like weekend getaways & more! Deborah
Shields, Executive Director of MBCC, states “It is empowering &
uplifting to know that MBCC & all of its supporters are contributing
towards a healthier future; one in which our partners, friends,
mothers & daughters will not have to fear that they will be
diagnosed with breast cancer.”

Please join us in MBCC’s NOT One More campaign- Not One More
Woman & Not One More Generation should be affected by breast
cancer. According to the Center for Disease Control, a woman living
in the U.S. is estimated to have a 1 in 7 chance of developing breast
cancer in her lifetime, as compared to that of a 1 in 11 chance in
1975. And Massachusetts has one of the highest breast cancer
incidence rates in the country. Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition
is a statewide grassroots advocacy organization that challenges all
obstacles to the eradication of breast cancer. MBCC educates &
advocates for policies & programs that will remove the cause of
breast cancer from our environment from our environment so that

Scott Brown will say and do anything to fulfill his personal,
political agenda, even poising in the nude for this Cosmopolitan
centerfold circa 1982. Arline Isaacson, Co-Chair of Massachusetts
Gay and Lesbian Political Caucus stated, “Scott Brown has voted
consistently against the LGBT community throughout his entire
career in the Massachusetts legislature. His has not been an
incidental opposition. He has voted against us loudly, proudly and
unequivocally. Unfortunately, most people don't realize just how
bad his record is:
-He voted over 25 times against marriage equality, even when 3/4
of our legislature and many MA Republican legislators stood with us
- He doesn't support the Transgender Civil Rights & Hate Crimes bill
- He opposes repealing "Don't Ask Don't Tell"
- He opposes repealing the "Defense of Marriage Act"(DOMA)
- He has ridiculed LGBT parents as inadequate
- He supported anti-gay policies of George W Bush & Mitt Romney
Martha Coakley's record on LGBT issues is the opposite of Brown's.

afford to lose the most pro-LGBT seat in the U.S. Senate to
someone who has no respect for our lives or our families. In this
special election, turnout will make a huge difference. We urge

Monday in California a federal trial began that challenges
the constitutionality of Prop 8. "This could be our Brown vs.
Board of Education," said former Clinton White House adviser
Richard Socarides, referring to the 1954 Supreme Court decision
that outlawed racial segregation in schools & other public
facilities. Whatever the decision it will likely be appealed to the
Supreme Court. Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger &
Democratic Attorney General Jerry Brown are defendants in the
lawsuit by virtue of their prominent positions in California but
both men opposed the ban & have refused to defend the suit in
court.

TRENTON -- The state Senate rejected a gay marriage bill Thursday.
This is a pathetic victory for opponents who contend that the measure
would damage religious freedom. They actually think that since the
state already has civil unions which provides about 1/3 of the rights
of marriage, this justifies making New Jersey's LGBT community 2nd
class citizens. The 14 to 20 vote followed hours of public debate
inside the packed Senate chamber. Gov. Jon Corzine supported the
measure but Chris Christie, who will replace him in 2 weeks, said he'd

"Nine" The Movie Falls Short of 10...

“Nine’’ is Rob Marshall’s first musical since “Chicago’’ which
won the Best Picture Oscar in 2003. “Nine” is based on the
1982 Tony-winning show starring Raul Julia, which was based on
Marcello Mastroianni's portrayal of Federico Fellini in “8 1/2.’’
With a stellar cast of Daniel Day-Lewis, Judi Dench, Marion
Cotillard, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Penélope
Cruz & Fergie, you would think that this production would enjoy
the same high accolades. Though this film is an enjoyable 1960’s
Italian retro-ride it does fall short of the media hype. Definitely
check it OUT. The cast is fabulous & the movie is entertaining...:)

Washington, D.C. city council voted Tuesday to pass legislation
that extends marriage equality to gay couples in the District.
The bill will now be sent to District Mayor Adrian Fenty,
followed by the U.S. Congress. By law, Congress has 30 days to
review & overturn laws created by the District's city council.
“Gay & lesbian people in our nation’s capitol are today one step
closer to the important legal protections that marriage affords &
that all loving & committed couples deserve,” said Jarrett Barrios,
President of GLAAD, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

Award @ the Wiltern Theatre in Hollywood, Sunday. Accepting
the award Harris said, “Being the real, authentic me has turned out
quite swell. Since I came out in 2006, I have since enjoyed the
happiest and most successful years of my life.” Recounting stories
he heard from volunteers working the phones @ the West Hollywood
Trevor Project Call Center, Harris said, “What I do feels small
compared to these volunteers.” AT&T Inc. received the Trevor Hope
Award. The Trevor Project, is the non-profit organization that
operates the only nationwide, around-the-clock crisis & suicide
prevention helpline for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender &

Martha Coakley has an exceptional track record of support
for the LGBT community. In National Leadership on Marriage
Equality, Coakley filed an unprecedented legal challenge to the
federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). On fighting for LGBT
seniors, Coakley worked to pass legislation expanding health
care protections for LGBT seniors in Massachusetts (MassHealth
Equality). Her track record on Transgender Rights is OUTstanding.
Coakley was an early supporter & the first statewide office holder
to support the Transgender Rights bill pending in the Massachusetts
legislature. When it comes to prosecutions of Hate Crimes,

breakfast television, revealed to Matt Lauer this morning on
NBC’s "Today" that she's a lesbian. She felt it was important for
LGBT civil rights to reveal her sexuality, so when people vote on
our issues, perhaps they'll think of her & have a change of heart &
mind. Baxter who has been married 3 times & mother of 5 children
states “She is very happy.” FYI, Meredith Baxter's aunt was actress

Gay Activist Cleve Jones, has been an AIDS Activist for over 30 years.
After working with Harvey Milk, Cleve conceived the idea of the AIDS

Memorial Quilt. In this exclusive audio byte he talks about how
AIDS effected our LGBT community.

A day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic
caused by the spread of HIV infection. AIDS has killed more
than 25 million people, with an estimated 38.6 million people
living with HIV, making it one of the most destructive epidemics
in recorded history. I have lost many friends & family to AIDS.
It is important to take a moment & remember them & think about
what a better world this would be if they were still around…..
